On our way back from Spain, our luggage was a little bit heavier. As we were carrying one more award for a youth film created in Greece.
The award was for the film “What’s in a name” by Lilena Marinou, a 16 year old student from Athens.
The film was shot in Gaza Strip, during the summer of 2014. The film reflects the power of love between a Jew and a Palestinian and fairly received the “Best Capture of Coexistence” special award at the 3rd International Youth Film Festival Plasencia encorto, held from 14 to 16 April in the town Plasencia, Extremadura province.
This is a new festival that brings a special dynamic. More and more young people are involved at the organizing and the help of the volunteers is great, creating a strong base of support.
Moreover, the Festival is supported by the local government, the Film Archive of Extremadura, the municipality of Plasencia and the people attending the screenings.
The recognition of the festival is expressed throught the numerous participation of delegations from many foreign countries.
