Ευρωπαϊκή Συνάντηση Νεανικής Οπτικοακουστικής Δημιουργίας
Cultural exchange, changing ideas and opinions, sharing the love for cinema, youth imagination & creativity, expressing ourselves through cinema, friendships, freedom… as freedom was this year’s Mythos Project theme! Our multinational film workshop took place, for 11th time, in the 21st Camera Zizanio and the 24th Olympia Film Festival (27/11 – 04/12/2021) in Pyrgos, Greece.
55 young people & their educators from 10 countries, participating with their film in the 21st Camera Zizanio, along with youngsters from Greece, were divided into 8 groups. Complying with the safety measures for Covid 19, they showed their rich artistic skills. And by transforming every corner of Pyrgos and the closest beaches as their set, shot in 5 days 8 short films about freedom… as everyone of us perceives it, personally or socially.
NFFS – Dutch national Film Festival for Students was our precious collaborator to this project.
The films were presented during a special screening on the last day of the Festival, 04/12, in Apollo Theatre, along with workshop films and received generous round of applause.

Συνύπαρξη πολιτισμών, ανταλλαγή απόψεων & ιδεών, αγάπη για τον κινηματογράφο, νεανική φαντασία & δημιουργικότητα, έκφραση με κινηματογραφικά μέσα, φιλίες, ελευθερία… όπως ελευθερία ήταν η φετινή θεματική του Mythos Project 2021!
To πολυεθνικό κινηματογραφικό εργαστήριο Mythos Project πραγματοποιήθηκε για 11 συνεχόμενη χρονιά κατά τη διάρκεια της 21ης Camera Zizanio & 24ου Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Ολυμπίας (27/11-04/12/2021) στον Πύργο της Ηλείας.
55 νέοι/νέες & εκπαιδευτικοί από 10 χώρες του εξωτερικού, που συμμετείχαν με τις ταινίες τους στo διαγωνιστικό τμήμα της 21ης Camera Zizanio, μαζί με παιδιά του Πύργου χωρίστηκαν σε 8 ομάδες. Τηρώντας όλα τα υγειονομικά πρωτόκολλα για την προστασία από την πανδημία του COVID 19, ξεδίπλωσαν το ταλέντο τους. Και μετατρέποντας κάθε γωνία της πόλης του Πύργου αλλά και τις κοντινές παραλίες σε κινηματογραφικό σκηνικό, μέσα σε 5 πέντε μέρες, δημιούργησαν 8 ταινίες για την ελευθερία… όπως την αντιλαμβάνεται ο καθένας, προσωπικά ή κοινωνικά.
Κι όλα αυτά με την πολύτιμη συμβολή των εκπαιδευτικών του NFFS– του Ολλανδικού Εθνικού Φεστιβάλ μαθητικών ταινιών.
Οι ταινίες προβλήθηκαν την τελευταία μέρα του Φεστιβάλ, Σάββατο 4/12 στο Θέατρο Απόλλων του Πύργου μαζί με τις ταινίες των άλλων κινηματογραφικών εργαστηρίων και καταχειροκροτήθηκαν.

Back to cinema theaters and the big screen. Crossing Europe Film Festival and its Youth section “YAAAS!” took place in the traditional way from June 1 to 6 in Linz, Austria. Camera Zizanio could not miss it!
Overcoming pandemic difficulties but compliant with new era’s protection measures, the organisers offered a fruitful cinematic experience, a festival program consisted of 3 competition sections (fiction, documentary and YAAAS!) a non competition Panorama and parallel events , Q&A’s, masterclasses and guided city tours to museums at Linz, a Unesco City of Media Arts. Linz has warmly embraced the Festival and local shops had decorated their windows with Festival elements.

Read more of this post“Last year has deprived us of several activities we were practicing delightfully, let alone those including art creation. It would be impossible though to remain idle and inactive during that period. Through the activities that the Olympia Film Festival for Children and Young People and Camera Zizanio always offered, we took the opportunity to create art with instruments and media in full compliance with this covid era.
Our participation in the international online film workshop “Film Days at VBU 2021” engaged us with youngsters from other countries, exchanging ideas but also roles in this occasion. Every national team took footage from another one and added its own touch to the creation of a short film about COVID.
This experience reminded us once more that facemasks won’t prevent us from collaborating with different people and cultures to create art.”

Camera Zizanio, through it’s international collaborations, promotes an encourages the dialogue and the creative cooperation among youngsters from all over the world! With great pleassure we accepted VBU’s proposal to partipate in a film workshop, in which 32 young filmmakers (from Croatia, Germany, Greece, Ireland & Sweden) will create short films on Covid-19.
The project is organized by VBU in cooperation with FiSH – Festival im StadtHafen and the participation of 3 more film festivals: Camera Zizanio, Four River Film Festival & FreshFilmFestival (all members of the Youth Cinema Network).

Η Camera Zizanio επιδιώκει, μέσω των διεθνών συνεργασιών της, να προωθεί και να ενθαρρύνει το διάλογο και τη δημιουργική συνεργασία νέων απ’ όλο τον κόσμο, φέρνοντάς τους πιο κοντά στον μαγικό κόσμο της εικόνας. Δεχτήκαμε, με μεγάλη χαρά, την πρόταση του Σουηδικού Εκπαιδευτικού Κέντρου VBU για συμμετοχή σε μια κινηματογραφική δράση όπου 32 νέοι από την Γερμανία, την Ελλάδα, την Ιρλανδία, την Κροατία & τη Σουηδία, καλούνται να δημιουργήσουν ταινίες μικρού μήκους με θέμα τον COVID -19.
Διοργανώνεται από το Σουηδικό Εκπαιδευτικό Κέντρο VBU συνεργασία με το Fish! Festival και τη συμμετοχή τριών ακόμη κινηματογραφικών φεστιβάλ: της Camera Zizanio, του Fresh Film & του Four River Film Festival (μέλη του Υouth Cinema Network).
