THE WORLD IS CHANGING. WHAT ABOUT US?

• A joint action of YOUNG DOGS Youth Academy for Documentary, Germany and Youth Plan (Olympia International Film Festival- Camera Ζizanio, Greece)
• Creation of short documentaries from mixed groups of Greek and German youngsters.

We’re living in a terrible contradiction.

Technology is galloping, creating new conditions of life on planet. It offers amazing possibilities of communication and creation. Old lifestyles, habits and professions are lost, new ones are born.

At the same time, economical crisis reverses much data. Deconstructs families and social structures. The war conflicts are multiplied, migration takes the form of a snowball. At the same time, old conservative ideas grow big by leveraging social, religious and ethnic conflicts. Blind hates that pushes society backwards.
Society gets tested. A new world, that is everyone’s vision, looks as a riddle.

In these circumstances, youngsters from Greece and Germany, among other thingd, have to face the stereotypes grown in many ways and that dangerously blur the scenery. People are identified with policies that are hostile towards them.

In Greece, Germans are appearing as descendants and continuers of the Nazis, that want, once again, to sow the havoc of fascism. For the Germans, Greeks are the lazy of the south that are living at the expense of the Germans labor and heavy taxation.

Reality is far away from all this obsessions.
By searching reality, we create the conditions of a mutual understanding and cooperation for a different future.
We have a proposal. The creation of short documentaries from mixed groups of youngsters from Greece and Germany, who will work together and in Greece and in Germany.

Documentary is a creative way to see the world as it really is, to understand each other, by rejecting the lies and the ‘on purpose’ altering of reality. Here, youngsters are in front.

Afterwards, we screen and distribute the films to a wider audience, with public screenings and the use of internet, raise conversations and distribute at the development of creative dialogues.”

PARTICIPANTS AND DURATION OF THE PROGRAM

Each team (Greek and German) consist of 6 youngsters and two educators.
The duration of each workshop will be 6 days, where youngsters will have the time to discuss their ideas, shoot the films and edit them.

PLACES AND DATES

The first meeting will take place in Dortmund, Germany in October, 2015.
The second meeting will take place in Pyrgos in December, 2015.
