Camera Zizanio

Dear friends and collaborators,

I would really wanted to write a special letter to each one of you, personally.

But the ones that i want to thank are so many.  So, i came up with this collective letter.
Though you have to know,  that everyone has a special place in my thoughts.

I would like to thank all of you, from Greece and abroad, for participating in the 14th Camera Zizanio, either sending your films or with your presence in Pyrgos, from November 29 to December 6, 2014.

My warmest thanks to all film professionals, educators, and specialists in media education, coming from various countries, who have contributed in the success of the workshops.

The projects produced in these days were sensational. For the first time, 49 films were created during the film workshops.

Everyone’s contribution was pivotal, in order to organize the most successful festival so far.

In a country where the economic crisis decomposes, we’re moving on into a new synthesis to a higher level of art and youthful creativity.  We believe that we carve new paths towards the future.

And that was the reason that paved the way for the first real promise by the Minister of Culture (who gave a speech at the Closing Ceremony of the Festival) for the signing of programme agreement that will ensure the long-term financing support of the Festival.

In a way, that satisfies our request for recognition as a national festival and its establishment as a permanent institution.

Of course, our struggle for developing and improving the festival and making the presence of youth more vivid, continues. We hope to have you among us to our next steps.

We also want to inform you that the Festival, satisfying the request of its friends, continues for 10 more days with screenings and parallel events in many cities of the Prefecture of Western Greece and the screenings of the official program in Alkyonida cinema in Athens.

From me and the whole team of Camera Zizanio and Olympia Film Festival (staff and volunteers)… a big thanks to all of you.
