‘The First Ice Cream’, Ikaria 2012

One of Camera Zizanio’s main goals is to provide -literally speaking- the essence of cinema: an open window to the world. But we intend to take it a little bit further and turn it into a mean that travels around the world. And we accomplish it greatly.

So, children’s films from Greece, with Camera Zizanio’s initiative, travel around the world and participate in international Film Festivals.

Our summer “harvest” for the year 2013 is:

  • The film “The first ice-cream”, made by children from Ikaria Island, will be screened at the Competition Section of the 8th Busan International Kids’ Film Festival (BiKi) in South Korea.
  • The film “Our hands are not for hitting”, a creation by the students of the 15th Primary School of Athens, will be screened at the Competition Section of the 6th River Film Festival in Karlovac, Croatia.
  • A selection of six films will be screened during Zoom to Europe and Asia (a summer film camp in the frames of a European program “Youth in Action”) that will take place from August 13- 22 in Mako, Hungary. A populous delegation of Greek youngsters will also attend this event.

We conclude our summer journey with the participation of a Greek delegation at the 8th International Youth Media Summit, to be held in Belgrade from August 1 to 12, 2013.

We hope to have the opportunity to continue this journey. For this, everyone’s help in needed. Now that crisis puts us tremendous obstacles. Let’s give to the children wings so that they can fly…
