Camera Zizanio

Vienna 2012

“Mythos project” is an international initiative of Camera Zizanio for the creation of short films where young people can express their thoughts and experiences from the nowadays crisis.

The first 6 films were created last December in Pyrgos, Ilia Prefecture, in the frames of the 14th Olympia International Film Festival and the 11th Camera Zizanio. These films started their journey all over the world and draw the attention.

The first important distinction came from Austria, where “Myhtos Project” films won an award at the Category Videospecials to the competition – The media literacy award ® [mla] . During the Award Ceremony, that took place in Vienna – November 6 to 8, 2012 – a delegation of Camera Zizanio were present! The team consisted by Kyriakos Haritakis, Maria Benteniti, Panagiota Georgakopoulou and Nikos Theodosiou.

In the capital of Austria, youngsters from Greece had the chance to meet young creators from other countries, present the work of Olympia Festival and Camera Zizanio -despite the difficult economical circumstances – to a broader audience and also give an interview at the radio and the German speaking television station BRalpha.

Dubrovnik 2012

Two weeks before, “Mythos project” were presented by Maria Bententinti and at the Croatian audience of the Dubrovnik Film Festival (October 18 -21), where the 6 first films were screened. In a few days, these films will travel to Hungary and be screened at the Faludi International Youth Film Festival and Photo Competition 2012, which will take place in Budapest, November 15 to17.

An interesting thing is that many youngsters from abroad have created – on their own – films that the subject is crisis and want to include their work at “Mythos Project” that starts to gain the characteristics of an international movement.

The next “Mythos project” big step will be organized during the first week of December, in the frames of the 15th Olympia Film Festival and the 12th Camera Zizanio. More than 50 youngsters from 7-8 countries well participate. “Mythos project” is going to be part of the Serbian national television program, that our friend Miomir Rajcevic manages.

But “Mythos project” is open to anyone and accepts ideas and suggestions at the communication platform which is the blog http://themythosproject.wordpress.com.
