
The 1st Skopelos International Film Festival for Youth, came to its end on July 27, 2009, with great success!
The Closing ceremony, that included screenings of Camera Zizanio’s awarded films from the Greek Section, and films that were created in the frames of the cinema workshops, took place at the packed open air cinema in Skopelos.
The workshops, that were realized at the studio of the Skopelos Foundation for Arts, lasted for four days and 20 children from Skopelos, participated. They were divided into three groups and with their teachers in charge, Nikos Theodosiou, Wangtae Lim and Kalman Csibolya, worked with great pleasure and created three films, 3-4 minutes each.
One more documentary film, similar to Camera Zizanio News that are created every year in the frames of the Olympia Film Festival, was made by Gesthimani Roumpani, that came from Pyrgos to Skopelos, in order to help with the Festival’s organization.
Each team separately, went on stage and along with their teachers presented their films. All children, expressed their will to travel to Pyrgos on December to attend the screening of their films, at the Camera Zizanio 2009.
The Mayor of Skopelos, in order to fulfill their will, announced that the Municipality will cover their travel expenses. He also expressed his intention to make this Festival a permanent institution. A certificate of participation was given to all the children, while the Mayor of Skopelos gave presents to all participants – Greek and foreigners – that help for the successful organization of the event.
So, this significant -for Skopelos- international event, closed in an enthusiastic atmosphere.
