The Giffoni Film Festival is such a unique event for children and young adults. Even though it takes place in a small Italian town called Giffoni, it’s one of the most well-known children’s film festivals in the world.
It’s weird how in just eight days you get to meet so many amazing people and have the chance to watch several excellent films from all around the world. Not only are we the jury of films made by people from all around the world but we are the first ones to watch previews of many famous professional movies. After the screening of the films we had the chance to participate in debates about the film. We could express our thoughts on the movie or ask questions about it to the director or some actor who represented the film.
Everything in Giffoni is well organised. There are many different kinds of activities for the jurors so we don’t only watch films. Every night there are free concerts for everyone by famous Italian artists.
During the festival,we were hosted by families that were very kind and welcoming to us. By living with them we had the opportunity to get to know better the italian culture, their way of living, their traditions in general and to eat homemade traditional food.
Also in Giffoni we made lots of new friends not only from Italy but from all around the world. Our chaperon was always there for us when we needed her help and she always took care of us. The three of us had a really great time in Giffoni and we hope that we can live this magical experience again.
