Two films from the 22nd Camera Zizanio, “Fake Jewelry” by the 1st Lyceum of Keratsini and “The Ball is Mine” by Pablo Soto, were selected to take part in the competition program of the 10th Placencia Encorto, International Youth Film Festival. This amazing event was held in the stunning city of Placencia, Extremadura, Spain from the 17th to the 22nd of April.
The talented young filmmaker, Lefteris Kordatzis, and his educator Yannis Pappas, winners of the 2nd prize in the 22nd Camera Zizanio, had the privilege of experiencing a three-day trip full of cinema, events, workshops, and even a lecture about cinema in the school. They made many new friendships and possible collaborations, too!
Not only did the festival attendees get to bask in the world of cinema, but they also got to explore Placencia and Caceres, a UNESCO world heritage site.
What makes this event even more remarkable is that it was created by educators and is supported by local teachers and cinematographers voluntarily. We applaud their dedication and passion for the art of cinema and education.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 10th Placencia Encorto, International Youth Film Festival. We look forward to seeing more fantastic films and supporting emerging filmmakers and meet them in Pyrgos this December for the 23rd Camera Zizanio.
CAMERA ZIZANIO- ANOIKTΟ ΠΑΡΑΘΥΡΟ ΣΤΟΝ ΚΟΣΜΟ: PLACENCIA EN CORTO FILM FESTIVAL, ΙΣΠΑΝΙΑ!
Δυο ταινίες από την 22η Camera Zizanio, «Φο Μπιζού» από το 1ο Λύκειο Κερατσινίου και “The ball is mine” του Πάμπλο Σότο, συμμετείχαν στο διαγωνιστικό πρόγραμμα του 10ου Placencia Encorto- International Youth Film Festival. Το Φεστιβάλ έλαβε χώρα από τις 17 εως τις 22 Απριλίου στην γραφική Πλασένθια, στην Εξτρεμαδούρα της Ισπανίας.
Ο νεαρός κινηματογραφιστής Λευτέρης Κορδατζής μαζί με τον υπεύθυνο εκπαιδευτικό Γιάννη Παππά, εκπροσωπώντας την κινηματογραφική ομάδα του 1ου ΓΕΛ Κερατσινίου, νικήτρια του 2ου βραβείου στην 22η Camera Zizanio, είχαν την ευκαιρία να ζήσουν ένα τριήμερο ταξίδι γεμάτο σινεμά, εκδηλώσεις, workshops και μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα ομιλία για τον κινηματογράφο στο σχολείο. Φυσικά, προέκυψαν νέες φιλίες και πιθανές συνεργασίες μεταξύ των καλεσμένων του Φεστιβάλ
Πέρα από μια γενναία δόση νεανικής οπτικοακουστικής δημιουργίας, οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να ξεναγηθούν στην πόλη της Πλασένθια αλλά και στο Κάθερες, πόλη που ανήκει στην Παγκόσμια Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά της Unesco.
Αξίζει να τονίσουμε ότι το Φεστιβάλ δημιουργήθηκε από εκπαιδευτικούς και στηρίζεται στη εθελοντική συνεισφορά εκπαιδευτικών και ανθρώπων του κινηματογράφου. Συγχαρητήρια σε όλους τους συμμετέχοντες και ανυπομονούμε να δούμε τις νεότερες δημιουργίες τους στον Πύργο και την 23η Camera Zizanio.
In March 22-26, Camera Zizanio traveled to Zurich to participate in the Schweizer Jugendfilmtage – Festival Ciné Jeunesse, where we attended the annual conference of the Youth Cinema Network. There, we had the opportunity to meet with friends and collaborators from various youth film organizations and entities specializing in audiovisual education for young people and exchange experiences, practices and know how with them.
Camera Zizanio also presented a program curated for this year festival, titled “Focus: Greece,” which included a selection of films with a social and political theme titled “The World is on Fire.” The selected films were created by young people from Greece and included: “The Sheeplee” from the 7th Lyceum of N. Smirni, “Touching the Dream” from the Music High School of Alimis, “Small Fears” from the Ritsona Refugee Camp, “Morning Comes in Yedi Kule” from the 8th High School of Peiraus, “Harmonica” from Pelagia Hatzinikita, “Trapped” by the General Lyceum of Pefkes, “Out of Borders” from Dimitris Papanastasiou & “How to” from Manos Ladas.
Through this collaboration, the young Greek filmmaker Manos Ladas, who participated in the 22nd Camera Zizanio with his film, was given the opportunity not only to present his film “How to” as part of the focus program but also to participate in the Talent Film Camp of the JugendFilmFestival as one of the 20 young people selected from Europe and Asia. This partnership allowed for a fruitful exchange of ideas and perspectives between different youth film organizations and demonstrated the importance of international collaboration in promoting youth creativity and expression through film.

Τον Μάρτιο, 22-26, η Camera Zizanio ταξίδεψε στη Ζυρίχη και το Νεανικό Κινηματογραφικό Schweizer Jugendfilmtage – Festival Ciné Jeunesse!
Για να συμμετάσχει στο ετήσιο συνέδριο του Υouth Cinema Network, όπου είχε την ευκαιρία συναντησει φίλους και συνεργάτες από διάφορα νεανικά κινηματογραφικά, οργανισμούς και φορείς που ειδικεύονται στην οπτικοακουστική εκπαίδευση των νέων και να ανταλλάξει μαζί τους εμπειρίες και γνώσεις.
Για να παρουσιάσει το πρόγραμμα που επιμελήθηκε για το φετινό αφιέρωμα του Φεστιβάλ με τίτλο “Focus: Greece”. Με μια επιλογή ταινιών της Camera Zizanio με θεματική τα κοινωνικοπολιτικά ζητήματα και τίτλο “The world is on Fire”. Το αφιέρωμα προβλήθηκε στον κινηματογράφο Albatron και η αίθουσα γέμισε με μαθητες/τριες των σχολείων της περιοχής.
Οι ταινίες που επιλέχθηκαν, δημιουργήθηκαν από νέους/νέες από την Ελλάδα και είναι οι εξής: “The sheeplee” – 7ο Λύκειο Ν.Σμύρνης, “Αγγίζοντας το όνειρο”- Moυσικό Σχολείο Αλίμου, “Small Fears” – Δομή Προσφύγων και Μεταναστών Ριτσώνας, “Ξημερώνει στο Γεντί Κουλέ”- 8ο Γυμνάσιο Πειραιά, “Φυσαρμόνικα” – Πελαγία Χατζηνικήτα, “Trapped”- Γενικό Λύκειο Πευκών, “Out of borders”- Δημήτρης Παπαναστασίου”, “Θάλασσα μνήμη”- ΓΕΛ Αγ. Μύρωνα και “How to”- Μάνος Λαδάς.
Μέσω της συνεργασίας αυτής δόθηκε η δυνατότητα στον νεαρό κινηματογραφιστή από την Ελλάδα, Μάνο Λαδά (που συμμετείχε με ταινία στην 22η Camera Zizanio), όχι μόνο να παρουσιάσει την ταινία του “”How to” ως μέρος του αφιερώματος αλλά & να συμμετάσχει στο Talent Film Camp του JugendFilmFestival ως ένας από τους 20 νέους/νέες από την Ευρώπη & την Ασία που επιλέχθηκαν.
2022, after two hard years of pandemic and restrictions, finds us trying to find our pace.
But in a world terribly unstable as the consequences of the economic crisis and the increase in poverty, of an unprecedented environmental disaster and a despicable war inside Europe are unpredictable.
In order to organize our next steps, we are looking for the constants that will be the springboard for a new beginning.
For us, this constant is the Olympia International Film Festival, which this year completes 25 years of action and from which, shortly after, Camera Zizanio was born.
The Festival’s fourfold theme on which it has been based since its inception is «Child, Peace, Education, Culture». This is the beacon that shows us the way to the future.
And we have a duty to widen this road in all directions. This is why Camera Zizanio puts a special emphasis on international exchanges and collaborations: with the participation of young people from Greece in festivals and film workshops in the world, sending films from Greece abroad, in multinational actions.

This year’s Call for entries to the 22nd Camera Zizanio 2022, is the cause for getting back what we lost during the last months. To reunite and share moments and experiences. But above all, to celebrate together the never ending imagination and hope of the youth creation.
Camera Zizanio invites you to submit the films you created individually or collectively (at school, workshops and elsewhere) . The deadline is the 3rd of October.
