The students of the  1st Argos Vocational High School (electronics dept. ) were the lucky winners of the first prize “Nikos Kavoukidis” that was set since last year’s edition of  Camera Zizanio.

The award, which is an offer of the great Greek cinematographer, is to provide the necessary professional technical equipment for the next film of the winners.

So, on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th of May 2013 (just before the end of school) the award got flesh and bones!

High-definition cameras, professional lights and sound reinforcement systems, transformed the area surrounding the school where the set was arranged, to a movie studio.

Nikos Kavoukidis himself was present and directed everything with his vast experience. So a project with too many claims  was possible to be completed in two days. But it took hours of hard work. There had been a very hard preparing of students-cast but also a big work on the set creating the decor, as we are talking about a costume drama.

Interior filming took place in the newly created lab of Electronics Dept which was created from students themselves.

The Lyceum Club of Greek Women, annex of Argos, offered their excellent traditional costumes.

The whole effort had the great and warm support of the teachers and the director of the 1st Argos Vocational High School.

But it remains the job of editing, which is equally painful and for that Niκos Kavoukidis offers his professional editing suites featuring in his studio in Athens.

The film will be screened  in Camera Zizanio 2013 this coming December.

The Olympia International Film Festival and the Camera Zizanio consider this fact as a big step in trying to bring together film professionals with young people and to open wider roads to creativity and expression of young people.

A big thanks to Nikos Kavoukidis for his great love for the new generation.
